Jesse Ward RMT
Jesse is a graduate of the 3000 hour advanced massage therapy course from MaKami College. He specializes in chronic pain, sports injuries/ massage, postural assessment/correction, orthopaedic massage, joint mobilization, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and reciprocal inhibition. He believes massage to be an integral first step to the healing process, which includes both stretching and strengthening homecare.
Jesse has had opportunities in his therapeutic career he has found invaluable; from studying under James Waslaski (recently inducted into the massage hall of fame alongside his long career with Olympic and professional athletes), attending cadaver labs courtesy of Seminars for Health, to studying in the only 3000 hour program offered in Alberta. Jesse has also trained for and passed his Canfitpro personal training certificate with a focus on postural corrective exercise. Jesse believes in a 3 step process towards physical enlightenment: breakdown of adhesions(fuzz) and increasing mobility, followed by increasing the normal muscle resting lengths of posturally tight muscles, which is in turn followed by the strengthening of overstretched and inhibited muscles.
I grew up in a small town where there wasn't much to do but play sports, at various times in my life I played soccer, hockey, baseball and basketball. I currently play men's league basketball and am an avid snowboarder. I enjoy yoga and the physical/mental balance it provides. My real passion however lies in the education of my clients; one of the biggest problems I hear about in the therapeutic world is clients being told what they should / shouldn't do but not why. I aim to provide not only a solution but an understanding, the true first step to health.
Using interactive 3D technology I can peel away the layers of muscles revealing often overlooked structures integral to the issue at hand. Through joint mobilization and manual therapy techniques learned from some of the best in the industry I will show you why the traditional deep tissue model is outdated and often counterproductive. I am in the office every Sunday Monday and Wednesday.
