I was immersed into the sport and physical activity realm during my adolescent years with the typical Timbits soccer and softball leagues. From those championship days, I progressed into playing competitive soccer and competed in Track & Field events.

I always knew that I wanted to work with athletes, which is why I pursued my undergrad in Physical Education at the University of Alberta. I completed my practicum as a student therapist with the University of Alberta Women’s Field Hockey Team, and continued on to work with their Men’s Basketball team.

After completion of my undergrad, I carried on to complete the Advanced Athletic Therapy Certificate at Mount Royal University, working with their Women’s Hockey team. Since then, I have worked with many athletes of different levels and sport, including a Ukrainian tour with the Cheremosh Dance Society. For the last three years, I have had the opportunity to be the Head Athletic Therapist at Salisbury Composite High School, working with all of their sports teams, predominantly Rugby and Football.

Currently, I am completing a Diploma in Acupuncture at Grant MacEwan University to help further my treatment capabilities. My ultimate goal is to combine the therapeutic assessments and rehabilitation from Athletic Therapy with Acupuncture as an alternative and complementary treatment. Acupuncture improves the body’s functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites. Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, reduce and relieve pain, and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is a safe and effective, and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Acupuncture is very effective in treating a variety of painful disorders, both acute and chronic.

Assessment and Treatment Techniques I use, but not limited to include:
-    Mulligan Mobilization Techniques
-    Manual Therapy
-    Cupping
-    Return to Activity/ Play and Concussion Protocols
-    Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation
-    Soft Tissue Release
-    Joint mobilizations and Traction
